All those fanatical about the world of leisure and fitness will again pitch up at Birmingham’s NEC next week for LIW, the UK leisure industry’s biggest trade show, which takes place on 22-23 September.

The show features a wide variety of engaging seminars and discussions on topics targeted at fitness professionals, so if you’re seeking to turn your passion into a career or you’re searching for the tools to expand your social media empire, the NEC could prove a useful networking space this month.

Physical Company will be encouraging everyone to get a move on by demonstrating its recently launched APEX Gym Floor Programming Solution. If you’re looking for a challenge, then fitness equipment manufacturer Precor is offering visitors the chance to take part in its AMT Challenge, where participants can see how far they can travel on the award-winning Adaptive Motion Trainer in just three minutes. Up for the challenge? Join Precor on stand D56 – good luck!

On Tuesday from 10:30-12:00, the four sponsors are running a sector insight seminar, where Leisure-net and Right Directions will explain the benefits of sharing accident statistics and Big Wave will provide information on digital trends. Leisure-net will also present the results of the LIW Fitness Industry Confidence Survey, while Lifetime Training will provide an insight into sector learning trends. Right Directions, which currently delivers Sport England’s quality scheme Quest, will also run the Future of Quest presentation from 13:30-15:00.

Activity will also be taking place in the form of keynote speeches from industry figure heads including Jamie Alderton, the UK’s leading PT and transformation specialist; Zoe Smith, Commonwealth gold medallist; Sam Dovey, managing director at KBT Education; and Olly Foster, PT at Ultimate Performance and Reflex Nutrition athlete. Fitness professionals will also have the opportunity to attend seminars in gym business and learn how to build their personal brand, capitalise on social media and retain their customers.

All REPs members remember – you will be able to claim CPD points by attending any of the sessions and seminars over the next two days.
