FitPro LIVE returned to London’s ExCeL on 9 and 10 July, and celebrated its 25th birthday by doing what it does best – delivering world-class education.

Across the two days, FitPro LIVE showcased internationally renowned speakers, the latest in cutting-edge industry products, presented innovative masterclasses, and became the networking hub for 2,400 delegates, to help drive business forward and provide solutions in client retention. TRX, MYZONE™, Lifetime Training UK and Matrix Fitness sponsored FitPro LIVE, with TRX delivering expert coaching in functional training.

The FitPro trainer team presented Tribe Team Training for the first time, and the new MOSSA ViPR™ workout was officially launched. When it came to nutrition, Precision Nutrition’s Brian St. Pierre inspired delegates on ‘The Cost of Getting Lean’ and debunked myths as listeners entered the world of Paleo. Jenny Burrell proved a popular delegate choice as she spoke on postnatal fitness and the mid-life client, while Rodney Corn, co-founder of PTA Global, encouraged us to find our own movement style.

Movement training arrived in full force at FitPro LIVE with presenter Stephen Hughes-Landers turning conventional exercise on its head, while the Parkour Generations team invited delegates to unlock their physical and mental potential by enhancing their natural ability to move over terrain.

More than 80 delegates took part in Stephen Hughes-Landers session ‘Master the Muscle Up’ and got hands-on with the most iconic calisthenics moves. “It was great to see so many people wanting to find out more about calisthenics and how they could incorporate it into individual or group PT sessions,” Stephen explains. “Bodyweight training is perfect for the freelance PT, and with an understanding of how to teach exercises such as the Muscle Up, it’s possible to challenge clients of all fitness levels.”

Presenter Mike Fitch was back for a second year with his ‘Animal Flow’ session, commenting, “We’ve seen this shift towards skill development, where people want to learn how to move their bodies. To see it now so globally accepted and to see it have such a high presence here at FitPro LIVE is really extraordinary.”

The LIVE Zone offered delegates the opportunity to stay on top of their product offerings with IamRunBox showcasing its design solution, and Exercise, Movement & Dance encouraging delegates to get involved with its #NotsoSecretFlashmob.

Emily Williams, communications manager at Exercise, Movement & Dance, said, “Moving forwards, FitPro LIVE has helped us to establish our place within the fitness industry. We have refreshed our brand, and secured new membership and training.”

Director of FITM8 Personal Training, Avril Kitchen, said, “FitPro LIVE allows us to keep our products and service fresh for our clients. It’s been so worth it.”

FitPro LIVE’s surprise delegate Dame Kelly Holmes attended sessions throughout the day and was seen putting Physical Company’s offerings through its paces.

“I had a great visit to FitPro LIVE,” began the double Olympic champion. “It was interesting to see the mix of physical and educational workshops taking place. My charity, the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, works closely with the fitness industry to provide opportunities for young people and retired athletes to gain experience for future work goals. It’s an industry that allows people to be inspired to improve their own fitness as well as motivating others to be the best they can be.”

Holmes visited the convention with FitPro blog writer, Ali Longmate, who commented, “As a British fit pro working in the Middle East, FitPro LIVE is a great way to make sure I can give my clients the best, most up-to-date workouts, tips and nutritional advice. A seriously good fun and invaluable weekend.”

Director of Group X Training Ltd, Jayne Nicholls, who is no stranger to the event, said, “They say you live and learn – I have attended FitPro LIVE for more than 20 years and every year I love the event. I am honoured to present with such a line-up and hope that my content inspires others in the same way that I am inspired right now.”
