Instructors
This page will explain the process of becoming a certified Fitclub instructor. The combination of excellent teaching, guidance and support contained within that process will give you the knowledge and confidence to deliver high-quality fitness programmes to children.
Are you qualified?
To participate in Fitclub training courses, instructors require a minimum level qualification or teaching degree, which includes physiology, anatomy and safe exercise components. If you do not hold such a qualification, check out our Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Health-Related Fitness to Children.
How do I get started?
Once your club/school has registered as a Fitclub site, you will need to book a place on a training course. To register your club/school, simply contact our Business Development team on (0)20 8586 0101.
Training
All Fitclub programmes require participation in a two-day training module. This module combines practical training and written work which you will take home for future reference.
Each training module covers the key areas in children's fitness including physiology, anatomy, psychology, discipline and motivation. You will learn some of the latest routines and receive regular assessments throughout the course.
Certification
You will learn if you have passed the course on the last day of training and be sent a certificate confirming your achievement! Once certified, you are free to start teaching the Fitclub programme at any registered Fitclub site. Shortly after your club becomes registered, they will receive a range of Fitclub marketing materials and you can begin teaching the latest release.
Music licence
Fitclub programmes are choreographed to licensed music. You must have an active FP Music licence before you can start teaching the programmes.* This licence is unique to Fitclub and music for our adult classes, the BTS programmes. To check if your music licence is valid or to purchase a licence, contact Membership Services on (0)20 8586 0101.
* If you are teaching Fitclub on school premises during school teaching hours, you may be exempt from a music licence. Please contact Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) direct on 020 7534 1017.
