Ongoing Education and Maintaining Certification

Staying up to date

The incredible popularity and success of the Les Mills™ programmes is thanks in part to the constant development and improvement of each programme. These advances in programme structure, exercise use and specific technique are essential for any instructor, in order to teach the programmes correctly.

What was "current" for each programme even one or two years ago may be very outdated today. There are serious implications in terms of quality and representation of a world-class product if you are not up to date with these changes. If you don't keep up to date, your certification will expire and you will need to retrain if you want to continue teaching.

To ensure you recreate the intended, up-to-date fitness experience and provide your class members with effective results, Les Mills produces quarterly DVD and "live" workshop education sessions with each new release. Both are valuable learning aids and offer you choice in how to improve your skills and stay current with the programmes in which you are certified.

To maintain your certification – current requirements (2010)

Newly certified instructors – you must attend three out of four quarterly workshops within your first certified year.

Instructors certified for more than a year – you must attend two out of four quarterly workshops.

Please note that, if you do not keep up to date with the current ongoing education requirements, you risk losing your certification and may have to retrain in order to become active and continue teaching.
