Video Submission Guidelines

Dear Instructor,

Congratulations on completing your initial training with Les Mills.

You now have the opportunity to display all your skills in a class situation. To provide you with an accurate assessment and effective action plan please take the necessary steps to provide a good quality submission. As you prepare to submit your video please ensure:

  • 1. You have read through and understand the compulsory requirements to gain International Certification. This can be found in your training manual.
  • 2. You have read through the questions and understand what the Assessors are looking for in each section.
  • 3. Your video meets assessment requirements. When you video your class please do the following:
    • Instruct the entire class by yourself.
    • Ensure that your voice and music can be clearly heard.
    • Teach all tracks relevant to the programme from one complete class, including pre-class interaction and introduction.
    • Teach to a class – a minimum of 4 people.
    • Use camera angles that allow the Assessor to see the whole of your body, including head and feet, and also allow a view of the class at least once per track. Film from different angles if you have a camera assistant (e.g. front, side and class shot).
    • Ensure that the video shows your movements and facial expressions clearly as well as those of some of the class.
    • Ensure that the camera is on continuous play and not stopped or edited between tracks.
    • Submit your class on a DVD or a new VHS formatted video, not a mini-cassette-8mm tape.
  • 4. You watch your video and complete the Video Self-Analysis Form.
  • 5. You have enclosed the £30 including VAT video assessment fee; please make cheques payable to Fitness Professionals Education. Please do not send cash with your video, if you do not have a cheque book you may call us and pay with a credit or debit card or send a postal order.
  • 6. You enclose a large stamped addressed envelope if you wish to have your video returned to you.
  • 7. Please make sure you pay enough postage for the weight of the video as we will not be able to collect it from the post office.
  • 8. UK instructors please make sure you have obtained an fp music licence from us as you video will not be assessed unless you have one.
  • 9. Address to send your video: Certification Team, Kalbarri House, 107-113 London Road, London E13 0DA. We advise you to send your video by either Royal Mail Special or Recorded delivery and keep record of your tracking number. We are not liable for videos that are lost in the post, nor are we able to give you an extension because of this so please send your video in plenty of time.

Thank you and all the best for your preparation. We look forward to seeing you on screen soon. If you have any questions regarding your video submission please do not hesitate to contact us on (0)20 8586 0101.
